I am looking to improve my study habits and I've always wondered what helped students to top their exams? just looking to learn some new techniques. Any tips are super appreciated!

Try breaking stuff into chunks. And don't cram. It's not recommended in any situation, let alone an exam as big as that. Also, teaching the material to someone else really helps it stick. Have you considered studying with friends?

my one tip is to kill the distractions. This is probably the hardest one for most people, but find a consistent, quiet spot, put your phone on silent, and close unnecessary tabs. A really focused hour is often worth three distracted ones.

This has been a massive problem for me for as long as I remember. Not sure if it's me or something else, but I think I'll get distracted even if I'm in a solitary confinement. :)
