Struggling with CARS timing on different passage types

I've realized that the philosophy and literature passages tend to take me way longer than the science ones, which often leaves me feeling rushed by the end. So, I've been making it a priority to really understand the passage before I dive into the questions. Has anyone found pacing strategies that work well for all CARS passages? I'd love to hear your tips

I think a good approach is to spend the first couple of minutes really digesting the passage, underline key ideas, note the author's tone and summarize each paragraph in your head. Then tackle the questions, focusing on elimination and referring back to the text instead of relying on memory. Some people also set informal checkpoints, like aiming to finish the passage within 3-5 minutes, so they have enough time for all questions without feeling rushed. It takes practice, but consistent timing and active reading usually helps across all CARS passages.
